Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or case number into a search tool displayed on this site, the query is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its results. We do not maintain a log of the search terms entered through the tool on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send us an email, we retain the message so that we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers may receive technical details whenever a page is requested. Those details can include:
- The IP address associated with the device
- The browser and browser version in use
- The device type and operating system
- Pages visited and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Dates and times of page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. We may use them and analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, page use, and technical performance. You can limit or block cookies in your browser settings, although some site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
We may use the technical and communications data described above for ordinary site operations, including:
- Operating, securing, and improving site performance
- Routing search requests to the applicable partner service
- Assessing which information visitors use
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Colfax County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general directions to the offices and official systems that hold records, including the Eighth Judicial District Court Clerk / Colfax County District Court Clerk, the Raton and Springer Magistrate Courts, municipal court clerks, and New Mexico Case Lookup.
New Mexico court-record access is governed by Rule 1-079 NMRA and the Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978, Section 14-2-1. Those authorities address access to official court records, subject to protections and court orders. They do not make this privately operated reference site a record custodian. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on this site. Information entered into one of those tools is handled under the provider's own privacy practices, including its retention and sharing practices, rather than under this policy. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
We link to clerk offices, trial-court pages, statewide court-access systems, and third-party search tools. Once you follow one of those links, the destination site's privacy policy governs its collection and use of information. Read that policy before providing personal details.
Advertising partners may also collect activity across websites for interest-based advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not on ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may, however, be available to the following categories of recipients:
- Search partners that process a query entered through their tool
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve advertisements on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when disclosure is required by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable security practices intended to protect information we collect. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, so we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe that a minor has provided information to us, contact us so that we can address the request.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights concerning information held about you. New Mexico's court-record framework is separate: Rule 1-079 NMRA controls public access to court records, while the Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978, Sections 14-2-1 and 14-2-8(D) addresses inspection requests and their required particularity. For an official court-file request, use the responsible court or the judiciary's New Mexico IPRA court-records portal, not this site.
Where applicable, you may be able to:
- Request a copy of information we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion of information
- Opt out of certain forms of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy. Any revision will be posted here with an updated effective date, so visitors may review the current version when they return.
Effective date: August 30, 2026
